While thumbing through my collection of gun manuals and exploded views, I never ran across a disassembly and reassembly instructions for this particular rifle.Ĭompletely refurbishing this old favorite meant everything had to come off of the gun.

Research on this gun was hindered due to a lack of a serial number but seems to have been manufactured between 19, prior to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Post by KCSO Tue 5:50 pm I've owned them and worked on them and the only thng that ever seems to go wrong with them is the rather small ejector that is shaped like a little nail. Although I had to order replacements for two parts beyond repair, the gun was a shooter. Introduced in 1961 and sold until 1979, Ithaca M49 looks like a conventional lever action repeater with 18 inch barrel. It was in fair shape, very dirty with a few dings and dents, but all of the parts were accounted for.
